Historic Beattyville, KY is only a few miles from Green Pastures Getaway. A quaint little river town at the confluence of the South Fork and the North Fork of the Kentucky River. It is here where the Kentucky River begins its journey that concludes at the Ohio River in Carrollton, KY. Access to the Kentucky River is easy with a public boat dock in Beattyville. The downtown of Beattyville has recently undergone streetscape renovations that have further improved the rich local flavors. Beattyville is home to the famous Woolly Worm Festival. This annual event is held in the third weekend in October with live music, food, and local vendors.
The beautiful Red River Gorge Geological Area is only a 15 minute drive away. With an abundance of outdoor recreation nearby; such as kayaking, hiking, and rock climbing, "Green Pastures Getaway" can be your resting place. Green Pastures Getaway is located in the Southern Region Climbing Area of the Red River Gorge. The Pendergrass-Murray Recreational Preserve and the "Motherload" climbing areas are located only 2 miles to the north and are great options for hiking, rock climbing and exploring.
Natural Bridge State Resort Park is also only a 15 minute drive away, with an abundance of trails and outdoor activities.
